Hi, my name is Karen, I am 50 years of age. I am a casual (part-time) Ambulance Officer with St John in the Horowhenua area. I have been with St John for 7 years, initially volunteering for the Wellington Events Team and then studying for my National Diploma in 2015. I love working on the front line ambulance and helping patients. It is a very rewarding job. I also have had some experience working in a hospital-level care rest home. I did not like the fact that often the residents didn’t get the time and care individually that they needed and deserved. I would be interested in caring for an older person who needs some home help and some TLC. I am a mother of 4 - two boys and two girls (the eldest now 26 and the youngest 15) and have spent a lot of time as a home executive running the household. I now also have two dogs and two cats :-) My working background originally was office administration, basic accounting and PA/executive assistant roles. I get on great with people of all ages and stages.

Hi, my name is Melanie, I am a 39 yr old Registered Nurse and Mum of 3 boys aged 7, 11 and 13. I have worked as a nurse in Public Hospital for 15 years and a private resthome/hospital for the elderly for 2 years. Recently I have decided to take a break from the shift work to focus more on my family, but my children are all at school now and I am free some days of the week. While I am taking a break from nursing, I am interested in assisting elderly or unable people with their daily out-and-about chores such as shopping, medical appointments, hairdressers, or any other normal daily chores. Some light house work and cooking would be fine too. I have a full clean drivers license and reliable late model car. I have a full first aid certificate and a lot of experience with the elderly. I would ideally be looking for a regular day of the week every week to help out with whatever is needed (not gardening or outside work). I am currently available on Tuesdays and Fridays (and some Mondays) between 9am and 3pm. Feel free to call or email me anytime to discuss more Melanie ph: 589 9992
I am a caring 14 year old wanting to raise money for a mission trip to Vietnam and Cambodia.
I'm a patient and caring 19-year-old student, who is majoring in psychology, and is going to go on to do a nursing degree. I am well-used to interacting with elderly people who have difficulties with seeing, hearing, speech and motor coordination, as I have worked in a nursing home. Although I did not perform caregiver duties, I gained an appreciation for the necessary skills and manor that a good caregiver should have.
