"Before using Carefinder getting babysitting work was pretty difficult. Alternative sites (including a popular student one) only had occasional listings, none to the level of Carefinder.

I liked that people can check my profile to learn about me, it’s good that caregivers can contact me direct rather than only having an option to search and apply for jobs. I had several potential families message me, it was easy to communicate with prospective families through the safety of the website.

Having had to provide a profile for prospective families to initiate contact, I feel families should respectfully provide a profile for prospective employees and believe this is the best way for both parties to connect with the 'right' person. Having just relocated from Taranaki to Wellington, and having left all friends and family support behind, I had been a little lost as to how to find someone I could trust to look after my 18 month and 5 year old.
