I am a sociable and friendly person who has always had a passion for children. I enjoy playing and caring for children of all ages. I graduated with a Bachelor of Education Degree from Massey University in 2017 and a Post graduate Diploma of teaching (Early Childhood Education) from University of Otago in 2018. I have a level 1 Workplace FIrst Aid training certificate. In 2012 I had the opportunity to coach a netball team of Year 9 girls. This was an awesome experience as i learnt so much and gained many important skills I will use for the rest of my life. It was an amazing feeling being able to mentor and guide these young girls to help them reach their full potential. I learnt a lot about the importance of team work, time management, being organised and always having a game plan. I have babysat for a number of families, with children ranging from 1.5 years- 11 years old. I have a lot of experience with caring for young children, as I babysat a young boy and twins on a regular basis. My duties included: changing nappies, feeding them, putting them down for naps, bathing them, changing them, playing and cleaning up any messes. I love meeting new people, I am confident and very reliable. I will always be flexible with hours and am happy to do extra chores around the house.

I am very enthusiastic about working with young children and I have plenty oexpereince including infants under the age of 1. I can provide excellent references. I have been studying early childhood education for over 4 year and I am now studying a Bachelor of Arts in education at Massey university.
My journey into education started in 2007 when I first began working at an ECE centre. Since then I have gained a Bachelor of Education from the University of Auckland and become a fully registered teacher. In 2016 I travelled to Italy to learn more about the Reggio Emilia approach which strongly inspires my work with children. My philosophy is also guided by Magda Gerber’s respectful approach and in 2015 I took part in the RIE foundations course to deepen my knowledge on respectful practice. These experiences have led me to believe that educating children in the home is best as it provides children with the peaceful and authentic environment that they need to grow and learn. The relationship I build with each child is the most important part of my work as within a trusting and supportive relationship, children can participate in quality learning experiences and truly thrive. My hope is that my home will be a special place to learn; where children feel loved, nurtured and respected.
